“Go to Nineveh and preach against it” Jonah 1:2
God has a command that He gives to every Christ-follower. It is a command we find throughout the Bible. It is a single word with powerful potential when we obey it.
God spoke this command many times throughout the Scriptures.
- To Abram in Genesis 12:1, “Go from your country to the land I will show you.”
- To Moses in Exodus 6:11, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him to let my people go.”
- To the disciples through Jesus in Matthew 28:19, “Go and make disciples of all nations.”
- To the Apostle Paul in Acts 22:21, “Go for I will send you to the Gentiles.”
- God’s powerful one-word command is Go!
I believe this is the word that God speaks to True Hope Fellowship in 2019.
- To go is to refuse to be passive in our pursuit of God and His Kingdom.
- To go begins in our pursuit of God. It means we are daily seeking God through His Word and prayer.
- To go continues in the times we come together and seek Him in worship and the Word.
- To go continues in the times we come together and seek Him in worship and the Word.
- Finally, to go means we take the Presence of Jesus with us into all the places and into all the relationships where He directs us. We let His Presence flow out of us into the lives of others.
Going together with Jesus and each other into 2019 will require a rejection of passivity and a choice to obey the voice of God when he directs our steps and tells us Go!
I believe that as together we obey the Go and get in God’s flow, God will use us and His Kingdom will grow.
